Bootfitting
What the heck is Bootfitting ?
BOOTFITTING (noun): The precise science and meticulous art of adapting a ski boot to the unique anatomy of an individual’s foot.
It is a rare discipline where technical engineering meets craftsmanship—and very few have truly mastered it.
Bootfitting by TOTALFEET
a passion that continues to grow
We learn to master the tools at our disposal, we shape them, and we relentlessly investigate why a biomechanical problem arose in the first place. No guesswork, no superficial fixes—just a massive amount of logic, engineering, and problem-solving.
A Rare Craftsmanship
This level of precision takes time, specialized raw materials, custom insoles, industrial adhesives, and—above all—an absolute obsession with the craft.
Unfortunately, in a world dominated by fast retail and superficial marketing, very few are truly cut out for this work. It requires a rare breed of technician to deliver a flawless fit.
My current shoes don't fit well: what can I do?
Assessing the situation: feet or boots? Schedule an appointment: We’ll work together to “take stock” of the situation. We’ll agree on the different steps:
- Custom insoles for skiing (TOTAL FEET standard)
- Work on the shell: expanding,, grinding to reduce pressure points
- New Liner molding: For over 10 years, most ski boots have featured liners that can be customized through thermoforming process
what does it cost?
Here is a highly professional, transparent, and compelling rephrasing for your website’s pricing and service section. It frames your prices not as an expense, but as a justified investment in time, expertise, and long-term performance.
The Investment: Transparency, Time, and Value
Before discussing pricing, it is essential to understand that TOTAL FEET takes immense pride in a job well done. True craftsmanship cannot be rushed—it requires an exclusive, 2-hour one-on-one session entirely dedicated to your feet.
Here is exactly how that time is spent to engineer your perfect fit:
The Foundation (45 Minutes): A high-performance fit begins with the insole. To perfectly distribute pressure across your sole, custom mechanical adjustments are required. I craft YOUR insoles right in front of you from scratch—never off-the-shelf.
The SHOELAB Modifications: Next, your boot shells enter the SHOELAB for complex structural alterations, stretching, and grinding. This technical process demands time and absolute precision.
Liner Customization & Alignment: Finally, we thermoform and adjust your liners, followed by a meticulous check of your stance and canting alignment. By this stage, we have surpassed the 1.5-hour mark of hands-on labor.
Our Pricing
Custom Performance Insoles: €250.00 to €350.00
Master Bootfitting & Customization: €220.00 to €350.00
A Long-Term Investment in Your Passion
While this represents a significant upfront investment, consider the lifespan of your equipment. With an average of five years of flawless performance, absolute comfort, and pure enjoyment on every single outing, it is an investment that quickly pays for itself.

Total Feet doesn't like
Mark has seen it all when it comes to feet and shoes since 1977. We’re expensive, but often not expensive enough—at the expense of our work and our goal: to give you the true joy of skiing
Total Feet doesn’t like:
- Boots that are too big: A new custom liner won’t be the solution. It’s better to start from scratch and invest in YOUR boot
- Boots bought online: How can you be sure all the measurements are correct? Please, buy skis, clothing, and accessories but no boots
